Business Start Up
When you start up a venture we will help you comply with the legal and tax requirements. Initially this will be by helping you decide on the most appropriate business structure: sole trader, partnership, or limited company. We will then register you with Companies House or HMRC as appropriate.
If you seek external funding, we will assist you with preparing plans and projections and can meet with potential lenders to assist you in securing investment.
To support you going forward, we will help you establish your accounting systems and internal controls.
Many businesses need regular finance support, but not on a full-time basis.
We provide traditional services such as VAT compliance, payroll and bookeeping, but we also seek to develop our relationship by becoming one of your team. We can assist you in budgeting then monitoring your performance and cashflows. As your business grows you may seek additional investment. We will assist you with preparing plans and projections required by investors.
By giving you accurate and timely information we will help you with your stategic decision making.
Whatever structure you have chosen for your business, you will be required to produce annual accounts and tax returns.
We will prepare accounts in the correct format and these will be explained to you so that you understand them. We have experience of preparing accounts for limited companies, partnerships, sole traders and charities.
If required, company or partnership tax returns for filing with HMRC, will be completed along with the final accounts.
We have vast experience of developing financial models to support business and strategic planning, particularly when it is to be used to attract capital investment (whether debt, equity or grant funding) or even sell your your business.
We build user-friendly, robust and flexible models that are bespoke created to our clients’ needs and can be easily manipulated to run 'what if' and stress test scenarios to assess the impact on the business. Having worked in private equity and banking, we know what funders are looking for, and our models are aimed at making their decision making as easy as possible. These models do not stand still, actual results can be input and used to compare performance against budget, change forecasts as the business grows and provide a robust monitoring tool for capital investors, giving confirdence in your business.
Our training gives you the skills to be able to do things on your own, not only saving you costs in the long term, but building your knowledge and experience to better run your business. Our training is flexible and tailored to what you need from half / full day 1-to-1 session, to a full 1-2 day course to assist your wider team. We can train you in the following areas:
